Job Description

Join Our Team as a Meat & Seafood Associate!

Do you love working with quality products and helping people? We’re on the hunt for a Meat & Seafood Associate to join our team at the Boise Co-op! If you’re passionate about food, have a strong work ethic, and thrive in a fast-paced environment — we want to meet you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Engage with customers — Greet them with a smile, offer suggestions, and make their day better!
  • Keep things clean — From the flat top grill to the meat saw, you’ll keep the department sparkling.
  • Handle product with care — Rotate, label, and store meat and seafood properly to maintain top quality.
  • Be a team player — Communicate clearly with coworkers and help create a positive, supportive environment.
  • Work the tools — Operate grinders, saws, and sausage stuffers (don't worry, we’ll train you!).
  • Stay food safe — Follow all Idaho food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Jump in where needed — Whether it’s prepping samples, checking temperatures, or helping with opening and closing, you’re ready to roll.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong work ethic and a team-first attitude.
  • Ability to juggle tasks and prioritize like a pro.
  • Excellent communication skills — with customers and coworkers alike.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • A commitment to showing up on time and ready to work.
  • Willingness to learn and grow — we’ll help you master the meat counter!

Bonus Points:

  • Previous meat department experience? Awesome — but not required!
  • Food handler's certificate (or willingness to get one).
  • High school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, grocery store environment.
